Senigallia

Here you will find the blog post about Senigallia's restaurants divided by occasion / meal / type of cuisine.

Fano

Botanic is a cozy restaurant near the seafront of Fano. Any time of the day is good to visit it, in fact they are open from breakfast to dinner. Special breakfast dishes and a brunch menu are offered during weekends. Every day from 12 to 13 you can create a dish based on vegetables, cereals, legumes, vegetable proteins and much more, from the buffet (the plate is then weighed to determine the price). Otherwise you can choose à la carte.

I ordered their bestseller: the salmon bowl, made with black rice, marinated salmon, avocado, mango, carrots, purple cabbage, pomegranate, pumpkin seeds and sesame. One of the tastiest poke bowls I have ever eaten.

I came back to try their breakfast and it was another beautiful surprise. I asked for a cappuccino and a custard-filled croissant with strawberries. Their croissants are buttery and crispy, filled with a huge amount of custard cream. The combination with strawberries was perfect.

DOMA is a pizzeria in front of Fano's dock. It is a very nice place and the atmosphere becomes magical in the evening. Also, for me it is the best pizzeria in town. The classic pizza is very good but I definitely prefer the "croccante" one; high hydration crunchy dough, divided into 6 wedges. My absolute favorite is Tipo Napoli +: organic tomato base, stracciatella, Adriatic anchovies, basil and oregano.

Dalla Vecchia Zia Ada is a pizzeria located outside the center of Fano. Here you will find the classic Neapolitan pizza, with a lot of choice of ingredients. I recommend you the Ripiena; rim stuffed with buffalo ricotta from Campania DOP, San Marzano tomato, stracciatella from Puglia, fried aubergines and mint leaves. Very good. I wouldn't consider it a "gourmet pizzeria", but I like it.

Pesaro

Fattoria Mancini is the perfect place for a date or a special evening. Here you can enjoy a nice glass of wine sitting among the vineyards of Pesaro, while admiring a beautiful sunset. Yes, you got it right. Although we are on the Adriatic, from this point you can admire a wonderful sunset. I advise you to arrive early because there is always a lot of queues. The food could be better, but the location and the view are definitely worth it.

Trecastelli

Gustò - Pizza Food & Fun is located in the main square of Trecastelli. The restaurant is quiet and unpretentious. Instead, the menu proposal is original and "young". They offer gourmet, normal and "al padellino" pizzas. I tried their Cantabrica with tomato, Cantabrian anchovies, stracciatella, olives, caper powder, oregano from Pantelleria and fresh basil. The dough was very good and the ingredients of high quality. Can't wait to go back to try more!

Monte San Vito

Officina del Gusto it is undoubtedly one of my favorite pizzerias in the region. They are masters in baking technique and they make a lot of research for high quality ingredients. You can't miss their Pizza Fritta; with stracciatella, tomato reduction, tomato powder and crystallized basil. A crazy combination of flavors. To continue you cannot miss La Marinara del Baffo; San Marzano tomato sauce, cherry tomatoes, olives, Cantabrian anchovies, caper leaves, oregano and burrata. Their "padellino" pizza is also very good, especially if you like thick and fluffy pizza.

Portonovo

Clandestino susci bar is a restaurant located in the amazing Portonovo's beach. The starred chef Moreno Cedroni serves his dishes here from breakfast to dinner. In my case, I wanted to start my free day here, with his breakfast proposal.

The sweet breakfast (12 €) includes a croissant, bread, butter, a couple of jams, diced pineapple and melon, a yogurt foam with muesli and a cappuccino mousse with lingue di gatto. The savory breakfast (€ 15) includes two sandwiches (1 tuna and egg and 1 with patanegra), melon with patanegra ham, bread, diced pineapple and melon, butter, Cantabrian anchovies, chocolate mousse with olive oil and salt. Both proposals are paired with a coffee or cappuccino and a homemade cold drink (lime and ginger or lemongrass). Undoubtedly an experience to try, especially for the breathtaking location and the professional service.

Ancona

Zucchero a Velò is a 50% vegetarian, 50% vegan restaurant. A choice not dictated by fashion but by the desire to demonstrate that a vegetarian and vegan cuisine can be full of taste, color, flavors and fun. The place is very nice, a bit hypster, as I like it. The menu is rich and varied, I would have liked to try everything. We opted for a Buddha bowl (basmati rice bowl with ginger and miso, seasonal baked vegetables, chickpeas, curry cream and mixed seeds) a Middle East Style (hummus served with veg shawarma, sweet potatoes, cherry tomatoes with pesto, salted granola and pita bread), roasted potatoes with rosemary and a scrambled eggs toast. Finally, we wanted to try their bestseller, the lemon cream pie. Everything was good and prices are excellent considering the quality and quantity of the dishes. Can't wait to go back to try other delicacies.
