In this post you will find recommendation for the best beaches of Ibiza and Formentera... and also some foodie tips (as always).
1st day - Ibiza
Arrived at Ibiza Airport we took a bus to Sant Antoni, where we booked a guest house and rent a motorbike.
The first beach we visited was Cala Comte, situated on the west coast. One of the most famous beaches in Ibiza, characterized by crystal water and a small island in front of the beach.

We had lunch at Sunset Ashram, a beautiful beach bar in Cala Comte. At lunch time you can have: sandwiches, salads, burgers and so on. Simple but tasty food, with an incomparable view. Is also beautiful to have dinner here, but the prices are quite higher (remember to book a table in advance).

Then we moved to Cala Tarida, the longest and widest beach in the western part of the island. The sea here has a magnificent color; turquoise blue and emerald green.
On the beach you will find fabulous beach bars and restaurants, including the famous Cotton Club which is popular among rich and famous people.

We had an Aperitivo at Café del Mar, a must to try in the island. Here you can enjoy one of the most iconic sunsets in Ibiza. We asked a red wine Sangria (1 liter for 30€) which was really good. The bar gets quite crowded at sunset but they have a lot of tables available and you will have to wait only few minutes to get one.

2nd day - Formentera
To reach Formentera you can take the AcquaBus ferry from Playa d'en Bossa (29€ round trip). At Formentera's port you can rent a motorbike, which is necessary to reach all the beaches.
First we had a rich breakfast at Can Vent, a charming terrace facing Es Pujol beach. We chose pancakes with red berries and iced coffee.

Near by you will find the famous Chezz Gerdi hippie minibus, an iconic symbol of the island, where taking a picture is a must.

Then we moved to the northern area of the island, where is located Ses Illetes, my favourite beach in Formentera. It is considered the best beach in Spain and one of the best beaches in the world by worldwide rankings. A long sand tongue of white sand, with rich underwater ecosystem and a beautiful natural environment. Ses Illetes Beach is famous for the whiteness of its sand and the turquoise blue tones of its waters, my image of true paradise.
Near by you can find Platja de Llevant, a virgin beach, of exceptional beauty and extensive dimensions. It is quite similar to Ses Illetes, so if you don't have much time to spend in the island you can skip it.

After the crowded Ses Illetes we went to Playa Es Caló (also known as Ses Platgetes), a non-touristy beach, characterized by white sand and crystal clear waters. Here you can practice nudism and its waters are recommended for diving and snorkelling.

Then we went to the famous Beso beach, in which a bench stuck in the sand sends us a message, at least romantic: "No hay verano sin beso" (there is no summer without a kiss). The beach is beautiful but not one of the best in Formentera. The beach is mostly visited for the Beso Beach Restaurant located in front of the sea. Mediterranean cuisine with Basque nuances, for a quite high price. If you want to eat here during high season you must book at least one week in advance.

After leaving the island you could visit some boutique in the center. I recommend you to buy a Bikini at Hippie Shop Formentera (in the physical store you can find unique pieces not available online).
3rd day - Ibiza
We started the day having a healthy breakfast at Hunza in Sant Antoni. They offer smoothies, natural juices, organic teas, cakes, toasts, cakes and so on. We had a yogurt bowl and an Açai bowl both served with granola and fresh fruit. The value for money is good.

After breakfast we went to Cala Saladeta, one of the most beautiful beaches in Sant Antoni area, with turquoise sea and pleasant sandy bottoms. When you arrive you will first find Cala Salada which is usually full of people, but after walking a winding path through the rocky cliff on the shore it is possible to reach Cala Saladeta, a somewhat quieter beach. This beach does not have services, but it does have a series of people who make your life a little easier. You can find people selling refreshing cocktails, empanadas and other snacks.

Then we went to Punta Galera, a stretch of rugged coastline, with flat rock terraces and clear waters. If you don't like to lie on rocks (like me), is a good place only for the view. Is not comfortable to stay there and neither to swim. For this reason we decided to change and we went to Cala Gració and we had lunch at Sa Bresca, an informal restaurant by the beach. The price is really cheap (considering the prices of the island) and the food is good. However, do not expect good-presented dishes or an instagrammable restaurant, here everything is low-key.
After lunch we came back to the hotel and prepared to go to Ushuaïa Ibiza. Always check the line-up to make sure to you will find a DJ you will like and book the ticket in advance. For example, we chose the Calvin Harris stage. The tickets are quite expansive but it worth the visit. Ushuaïa is not only a disco, is a place where you can really enjoy good music (if you like this kind of music ofc).

4th day - Ibiza
We started the day in Ses Salinas. I don't know if we were unlucky, but the water was full of seaweed and the area was nothing special. I prefer smaller coves to large stretches of sand. I had heard a lot about it and I was quite disappointed.
For this reason we moved to Sa Caleta. The beach is protected by reddish earth cliffs, creating a feeling of complete isolation due to its horseshoe shape. It is made of fine sand, with clean and shallow waters.

Then we went to Es Boldado, where we had previously book a table. I really recommend you to try this restaurant, both for their view on Es Vedrà both for their amazing food. The "bullit de peix" is one of its most requested specialties, as well as its paellas. I suggest you to reserve in advance, the restaurant is always full.

After lunch we stayed at Cala d'Hort, small and charming beach with fantastic views on the mysterious island of Es Vedrà.
To end the day in the best way we went to see the sunset from a Panoramic location near Cala d'Hort. The sunset and the view on Es Vedrà from there are breathtaking, one of the best ever seen in my life and without any doubt the best sunset spot in Ibiza. The mysterious smoke that comes from the island makes the atmosphere magical and almost unreal.

5th day - Ibiza
The last day we had breakfast at Passion Cafè (in San Antonio), my favorite cafeteria in Ibiza. They have various restaurants around the island. I have been to the one in Cala d'En Bossa (2 years ago) and the one in San Antonio (1 year ago). Each location is unique and well furnished. The last time I visited Passion Cafè I tried their amazing Bulletproof coffee (I have never found this type of coffee in other places) and a Porridge topped with blueberries, banana, peanut butter, coconut flakes and fruit puree. The portion was huge but I finished it all because it was too good, the best porridge I ever tried. Can't wait to go back here, I consider it one of my favorite cafes in the world.

After this amazing breakfast we went to Cala Bassa, considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the west coast with the presence of the famous Cala Bassa Beach Club. Unfortunately, the beach was really crowded (as always during high-season) and it was not very comfortable. We took a swim, took a tour of the beach club and drank a beer overlooking the sea.

After Cala Bassa we left our motorbike in Sant Antoni and we took the bus to reach the historic center of Ibiza. We had a quick lunch at La Cava, where we shared some typical Spanish tapas.
The old town of Ibiza is known as Dalt Vila (which means "the upper town"). It was (and it is) the government, commercial and cultural center of the island. Between its walls it is possible to see the footprint left by the different civilizations that have passed through the island. Here you can also find the Cathedral of Ibiza, one of the symbols of the island.

Don't forget to take the classic picture at the flower power corner located in front of the Pacha Shop at the port. In the following picture you can see the exact names of the streets.
